You think it can’t be that hard to do hair. It many ways your are right however when it comes to actually understanding and seeing the picture you try to paint for a stylist is the tricky part. It is the stylist responsibility to translate what you described and make a plan of action.
The consultation is the hard part of doing hair. It’s the time to build your trust, to defined what you actually want and then tells you how we are going to get the result you want. It’s in the consolation that makes sure you feel beautiful and confident when you walk out of a salon. If you have ever experienced a bad consultation you know what I am taking about.

- Know what you didn’t like since your last service.
- Have a picture of color and haircut (can be in 2 plus different pictures if need be)
- Be sure to speak up if you don’t feel the stylist understands what you want, ask them to involve another stylist.
It is hard to accomplish a perfect haircut/color the first time you meet someone. There are some many variables to consider when designing a clients haircut or color. Such as: how active someone is, what they do for a living or how much time they are willing to spend getting ready each day. It is understandable why it’s hard to find the right hairstylist and once you do find that one stylist you never let go.
