3 Questions You Should Ask Your Maple Grove Hair Colorist

Adding color to your hair is a fun way to change up your style and feel great. Your Maple Grove hair colorist will want to capture your preferences along with adding a flare that they know you’ll love. These three questions will help you and your colorist get the best look for your style.

When you look at my color, what don't you like about it?

Your colorist has seen many styles and colors in different types of hair. What they like and don’t like about the current color can help you come up with a style that shows your personality and beauty. When I go to get my hair done, I want to share what I like and don't like, but I also need to know what my stylist thinks. I want a stylist who can look at me and my hair, consider my lifestyle and personality, then recommend a personalized style just for me.

If you could do anything with my hair color, what would you do? Why?

I don't want to sit down with an order taker that just applies my color and sends me on my way. I like a modified color every time so I don't get stuck in a rut, but I don't want someone to say, “wow you changed your hair.” If your stylist is not thinking of what else they could do to improve or modify your personal style every time, you will find one day, you want something different. However, you won’t be sure they can do it for you. As we grow older, our hair and skin changes. Is your stylist keeping your hair color in check with your life changes? We all want to grow old gracefully, but you will find not every stylist can help you do this. Believe it or not, when the time comes, you want something else, and your current stylist can't meet you with ideas. You may find yourself chasing random people through the grocery store to find out who does their hair. It happens often!

How often should I be in to see you?

We are all so busy, including your stylist. If you don't pre-schedule your appointments, you will find one of two things happen. Life will happen, you will forget to schedule, and one morning, you look in mirror and wished you had your hair done. Either that, or you will have to go with another stylist because you couldn't get in on the date and time you want.

Scheduling your next services before you leave will do 3 things for you:

1. Take the burden off you to remember to schedule and what services to schedule.

2. Know what you will spend when you come. Your stylist should be able to confirm before you leave, so you can budget your time and money.

3. Never worry about your hair acting inappropriately, but instead, look great from the last service until your next scheduled service.
